These are extracts from the diary of Connie Wright, first love of Bob Read, and describes their innocent romance in heart-warming detail. The diary provides unique insight into Bob's life before and after his experiences in the Japanese prison camps and how much he meant to Connie, even as the decades marched on.
The extracts were provided on Word Document by Dawn Baxter and have been digitally altered to be presented in a diary-esque format, as beautiful words deserve an equally interesting presentation.
Time has marched on and Connie had met Jack who was in the RAF
Additional Notes: Circa 1954; Connie's dad had just passed away and she went to Woolworths to look for some black gloves, it had been a shock.

...don’t ever think this should be forgotten, |
Addition Notes: Hal is Connie's brother.
September 1989; sadly Rene had died and as Hal was living with her and had been for some time, she left him the house and so Connie would still call at Bilborough when Forest were away. |
Corrections: Brian died age 19. The mooring line slipped off the drum, striking him on the head and killing him instantly. Brian was buried in Saigon, Formosa was where Bob was held captive by the Japanese.
